Spiritual Gifts Analysis

What would you think if I told you that there was a special gift available, just for you, which would, once you have accepted it and put it to use, give you the ability to make a real difference in your life as well as in the lives of many others? Furthermore, what if I told you that this gift had nothing to do with a telemarketing scheme, free books or movies or a vacation time share? At this point, my hope is that you would be more than just a little bit interested. Let’s take this thought just one step further and say that this gift has been made available to you and to each of us by someone who loves us very, very much. By now the only thing left is to reel you in. It’s important that you understand that I’m not making any of this up. In fact, this gift really does exist, right here and right now and all that you have to do is say “O.K., I’m ready, let me have it.” Some of you really savvy stewards have probably already figured out that I’m talking about your very own Spiritual Gifts. You know the ones that I’m talking about. They are the gifts that God has planned for, promised and given to each of us to use to be better disciples and be the absolute best that we can be at building up the Church, the Body of Christ. There is one small catch. In order for us to determine the full potential of our gifts, we’re going have to go through a small assessment process. The good news is that someone has already taken the time to develop an exercise to help us identify our dominant Spiritual Gifts. Over the next couple of months, the Stewardship Team will be offering several different opportunities for our congregation to work through a Spiritual Gifts Inventory that takes between 10 and 20 minutes to complete. We guarantee that, after you complete the questionnaire, you will have determined just what those great gifts are. You will have discovered how your Spiritual Gifts relate to God’s will for your life and your personal calling. Discovering and exercising our God-given spiritual gifts allows us to experience maximum fulfillment with minimum frustration in our Christian lives. It helps each of us find our best fit for the ministries here at Good Shepherd and, because we will be working within our individual Spiritual Gifts, our ministries will take on new life. Our goal is to have everyone, that’s right, 100% of our congregation, complete an assessment. You’ll be hearing more about this and be receiving instructions in the days and weeks to come. Please open your hearts and minds to this process. It IS win/win. You will learn what your individual gifts are and get to use them to serve God and your Brothers and Sisters through doing what you do best for our ministries.
